The European Union Awards Funding to the ReBuild-3D Project Coordinated by Özyeğin University

The ReBuild-3D Project has achieved a significant milestone by receiving an outstanding 14.5 out of 15 in the European Union's evaluation process. Coordinated by Özyeğin University and supported with a total budget of €1.5 million, the project will bring together leading European research and technology organizations. ReBuild-3D will strengthen Özyeğin University's international research and innovation capacity by integrating it into Europe's research ecosystem in the field of circular, low-carbon, and data-driven 3D concrete printing.

The project is coordinated by Assoc. Prof. Zeynep Başaran Bundur, with Assoc. Prof. Özkan Bebek serving as the lead researcher responsible for 3D printing and digital fabrication activities. Project partners include SINTEF, CARTIF, Metabuilding Association, Circular Intelligence Association (CINTEL), and Türkiye İMSAD.

As part of the ReBuild-3D project, researchers will conduct studies on construction and demolition waste valorization, carbonation, advanced materials characterization, artificial intelligence, digital concrete manufacturing, life cycle assessment, and the Digital Product Passport. Upon completion, the project aims to integrate Özyeğin University's 3D Concrete Printing Laboratory into an international testing network and transform it into a regional research and validation center serving as a bridge between Europe and the Balkans, Middle East, and North Africa.
