Attention to Researchers Using Artificial Intelligence in Proposal Writing

Dear Researchers, 

The “Guideline on The Generative Artificial Intelligence” published by TÜBİTAK in 2025, were prepared to ensure the protection of research integrity, the safeguarding of data confidentiality, and the transparency of processes.

According to the most recent information shared by TÜBİTAK, it has been identified that in some recent project applications, insufficient attention has been paid to the principles set out in the guidelines; in particular, erroneous, unverified, or fabricated references generated by Generative AI (GAI) have been included. TÜBİTAK has informed that the relevant applications were subject to sanctions under the Research and Publication Ethics Committee (AYEK) Regulation and related legislation.

In order to uphold scientific integrity and ethical standards, you are kindly requested to:

• - Carefully review the guidelines and strictly comply with the stated rules,

• - Bear in mind that GAI is only an auxiliary tool and that full responsibility rests with the applicant,

• - Declare the use of GAI in your applications accurately, completely, and transparently,

• - Thoroughly verify all sources (references) generated by GAI.
