Abstract:
Offering a method for counting fish in a real-time continuous manner introduces several advantages to the productivity of fish farming. In this paper, we introduce some approaches to enable this continuity via using methods to confront the challenges that are inevitably inherent for this job. Our approaches mainly include taking advantage of machine learning for training the model by using suitable morphological features, shape analysis, and image processing methods. Several morphological features and training methods are tested to pick out the most suitable ones. Our results show achieving accuracy of 99.44% for the worst case test samples, which is the highest so far, in addition to having the continuity in counting which is rare among the previous methods.
