Our Alumnus Erkan Yurdusever’s Project Named Among the Top 10 at Designaddvance 2025

“Shift Park Arena,” an architectural project co-developed by Özyeğin University Architecture alumnus Erkan Yurdusever and his teammate Hacı Ömer Öz, has been selected among the Top 10 projects at the international Designaddvance 2025 Competition.

Open to undergraduate and graduate students as well as early-career professionals in architecture, planning, engineering, and design, Designaddvance seeks innovative proposals for multi-purpose arenas that respond to evolving social, cultural, and economic dynamics. The submissions are expected to integrate technological, material, and structural innovations while placing special emphasis on adaptability, flexibility, reversibility, and sustainability.

Held in 2025 under the theme “Beyond the Game: Adaptive Arenas for Tomorrow,” the competition recognized Yurdusever’s project for its clarity, innovative design, and thoughtful engagement with real-world design challenges. Developed through a BIM-based design process, Shift Park Arena proposes an adaptive arena that combines a kinetic roof system with telescopic seating modules. Supported by digital twin technologies, the arena is designed to synchronize with the park’s canopy, allowing the arena to seamlessly integrate into everyday city life during non-event periods.
